Wild Blueberry Mostarda

A few years ago, I stumbled into the world of Italian mostardas. Made with mustard seed oil, it is typically served with meat (although we think it is great with cheese). It offers an awesome pairing of sweet fruit and horseradish-like heat.

Like jam, mostarda was created to preserve fruit for the winter. So different parts of Italy create different mostardas, using whatever fruits are locally abundant - and what is more abundant in Downeast Maine than wild blueberries?

INGREDIENTS: organic wild blueberries, organic cane sugar, organic lemon juice, mustard seed oil
